Dose-Response Curve

Definition

A graphical representation of the relationship between drug dose and the magnitude of its effect. The curve typically has a sigmoidal (S-shaped) form and is used to determine the effective dose range, maximum effect, and potency of a drug.

Example

Comparing the dose-response curves of two pain medications reveals which is more potent (achieves the same effect at a lower dose).
